I am Zoe, married to Brian, and we are beginning the adventure of our lives — adopting from Ethiopia. I’m a native Nova Scotian, eldest of 10, extrovert. He’s an introvert, only child, born in Hollywood. Somehow, it works!
This blog will record our adoption journey, as well as the stuff of life I feel like writing about. And if you’re lucky, I may subject you to my amateur photos. (The ones here were taken by our friend, Renata Grzan, a real talent — check her out.) Please stop by whenever you can.

Zoe: All things food and health related, human rights, reading, stimulating conversation, red shoes, farmers’ markets, body products that smell like the forest, wine, dirty martinis, dark chocolate turtles.
Brian: History, books, antiquities, mixed martial arts, books, intelligent arguments, good prose, CounterCulture coffee, books, Hendrick’s Gin, and did I mention books?

P.S. About our blog name…
“Chasing Saints” is a play on our last name and speaks to chasing down our kids — where ever they are — and bringing them home. It’s also about trying (and oh, so badly failing) to follow in the footsteps of the good and brave and holy people who show us the way to love. Brian came up with the name. He’s smart like that.

Hi, Zoe and Brian!
I’m also waiting for my171H and with WACAP; approved for a 6-8 y.o. girl.
I love your blog and the entries you write on our WACAP Ethiopian Adoption internet group!
How do you find the time to write on your blog? I’ve finally started a WordPress blog but too exhausted each night and too going-crazy-busy each day to write.
If you could email me, I’d love to exchange a couple of questions and ideas (even with our limited time).
Thank you!
Kea
